Golfer Bill Haas and actor Luke Wilson involved in car crash that left one dead  PGA Tour golfer Bill Haas has survived a car crash involving actor Luke Wilson which left one person dead in Los Angeles. Haas was in the passenger seat of a Ferrari which crashed into a BMW in the Pacific Palisades neighbourhood at 6.30pm local time on Tuesday evening. The 71-year-old driver of the Ferrari, a member of the family whom Haas and his family were staying for the upcoming Genesis Open tournament, was pronounced dead at the scene. Haas, who is ranked 67 in the world, has been released from hospital after suffering no broken bones in the crash. The 50-year-old female driver of the BMW remains in a serious condition. His father told the Golf Channel his son was "very fortunate" and expects him to make a full recovery. The driver of the car Bill Haas was travelling in was killed  Credit: KTLA  Mr Wilson, who has starred in films including Legally Blonde and Idiocracy, escaped injury after his vehicle was 'clipped' by the Ferrari before the collision. Luke Wilson's car was 'clipped' in the incident  Credit: AP Detective Jeff Fischer from the Los Angeles Police Department told local television station KTLA: "I can confirm Luke Wilson was driving the vehicle, the Toyota FJ that was travelling northbound. His vehicle just basically got clipped by the Ferrari. "Mr Bill Haas was the passenger in the Ferrari. Apparently, from what I was told, he's doing OK too." The Ferrari was "travelling at speed" say police and flipped multiple times following the collision. Footage from the scene shows the mangled wreckage of the car which suffered significant frontal damage. One person was pronounced dead at the scene Credit: RMG News / MEGA Officer Mike Lopez from the Los Angeles Police Department told the Palisades Post: "I believe the cause was a high rate of speed and the individual lost control, colliding into several vehicles."   The PGA Tour and Haas' management said in a joint statement that Haas would be withdrawing from the Genesis Open at the nearby Riviera Country Club. Police are currently investigating the cause of the crash and are analysing CCTV footage from a nearby private residence.
