Mexico announces aid options for Central American migrants Posted: 26 Oct 2018 03:58 PM PDT Mexico on Friday announced it will offer Central American migrants medical care, education for their children and access to temporary jobs as long as they stay in two southern states. The plan was the first broad and detailed bid to address concerns of the flood of migrants, mostly from Honduras, who -- facing deadly violence and desperation at home -- set out in caravans for the United States. President Enrique Pena Nieto announced the "make yourself at home" plan that migrants who agree to remain in Chiapas and Oaxaca states can "receive medical care and even send your children to school," according to a video posted on Twitter. |

French President Macron regrets Belgium choosing Lockheed jets Posted: 26 Oct 2018 04:29 AM PDT BRATISLAVA/PARIS (Reuters) - French President Emmanuel Macron said on Friday that he regretted Belgium's decision to choose Lockheed Martin's F-35 stealth jets over the Eurofighter Typhoon planes. "It's a decision that was the result of a process which I greatly respect and which was linked to political constraints specific to Belgium, which are not for me to comment upon, but strategically it goes against European interests," said Macron at a news conference held with Slovakia President Andrej Kiska. "For my part, I regret the choice that was made." On Thursday, Belgium announced its decision to go with the Lockheed Martin planes to replace its ageing F-16s in a 4 billion euro ($4.5 billion) deal, saying the decision came down to price. |

Tesla under US criminal probe for Model 3 comments: source Posted: 26 Oct 2018 02:45 PM PDT US criminal investigators are probing whether Tesla Motors misled investors about the timetable for meeting key car production targets, a person familiar with the matter said Friday. The investigation was the yet another tangle with federal authorities for the electric automaker, whose share price was repeatedly buffeted earlier this year after a series of erratic-seeming comments by Chief Executive Elon Musk. The probe, which has been underway since earlier this year, concerns whether the automaker told investors it was on track with targets for the closely-watched build-out of the Model 3 car despite knowing it could not meet such goals, The Wall Street Journal reported Friday. |

Instead of an artist's signature, it bears the stamp of a mathematical formula on the bottom right. It's the brainchild of French collective Obvious, whose aim is to use artificial intelligence to democratize art. |

The company has cooperated in responding to what it called a "voluntary request" for documents from the Department of Justice in September, a Tesla spokesperson said. "We have not received a subpoena, a request for testimony, or any other formal process, and there have been no additional document requests about this from the Department of Justice for months," the spokesperson said in an email. |

Maisie Williams just gave us the Stark reunion we didn't know we needed Posted: 26 Oct 2018 05:26 AM PDT The last time Arya Stark saw her older brother Robb on Game of Thrones, it was a pretty horrendous scene. You might recall Robb's headless body was being marched through the streets with the head of his direwolf Grey Wind attached to a mocking chant of "King in the North!" SEE ALSO: Maisie Williams filmed her final 'Game of Thrones' scene alone But thankfully, Maisie Williams just gave us the wholesome Stark reunion we so desperately needed. Williams posted a photo on her Instagram along with her Game of Thrones co-star Richard Madden, who played Robb Stark. Oh how satisfying it is to see the King in the North reunited with his little sister again. View this post on Instagram ♀️ A post shared by Maisie Williams (@maisie_williams) on Oct 26, 2018 at 3:06am PDT Madden also shared the photo, which was apparently taken at the Hampstead Theatre, where Williams is currently starring in the play "I And You." Madden captioned the photo "Last night watching @maisie_williams being brilliant in her new play." Such a supportive big brother! Posted: 25 Oct 2018 10:59 AM PDT Florida finds itself host to one of the most heated and ill-tempered of all the midterm election races. Tallahassee mayor Andrew Gillum, 39, is running for governor against Ron DeSantis and hopes to become the first African-American to win the office in the Sunshine State. Mr Gillum is hoping to bring the blue wave to the beaches but is having to fight dirty against ex-congressman Ron DeSantis, 40, in the battle to succeed Rick Scott. |
