Saudi team must have acted on orders in Khashoggi case, says Turkey Posted: 06 Nov 2018 01:21 AM PST Speaking to reporters in Tokyo, Mevlut Cavusoglu added that it was Saudi Arabia's responsibility to tell Turkey what happened to the Khashoggi's body, according to Anadolu news agency. Saudi officials initially insisted Khashoggi had left the consulate, then said he died in an unplanned "rogue operation". Turkish President Tayyip Erdogan, who has repeatedly demanded more information from Saudi Arabia, has also asked Saudi officials to say who in Riyadh sent a 15-strong team which is suspected of involvement in the killing. |

Abrams noted that she does not use such rhetoric lightly. |
Posted: 07 Nov 2018 08:48 AM PST Nancy Pelosi defied her Republican foes on election night when Democrats took back control of the US House of Representatives after serving eight years as the minority party. The House Democratic leader made history in 2007 for becoming the first woman appointed as Speaker of the House, a coveted position that places her second-in-command after the vice president in the unfortunate case of emergency presidential succession. Ms Pelosi held on to her House Speaker role until 2011, when a Republican insurgency took back the chamber and bumped Democrats down into the minority party. |

Indonesia jet had damaged airspeed indicator on last four flights: official Posted: 05 Nov 2018 07:31 PM PST The damage on a Lion Air jet that crashed into the sea, killing all 189 aboard, was revealed after data had been downloaded from the plane's flight data recorder, Indonesia's National Transportation Safety Committee (KNKT) chief Soerjanto Tjahjono told reporters on Monday. "We are formulating, with NTSB and Boeing, detailed inspections regarding the airspeed indicator," he said, referring to the U.S. National Transportation Safety Board. The acting administrator of the U.S. Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Dan Elwell, said the FAA and NTSB had teams of experts in Indonesia at the government's request. |
Trump petitions high court in effort to kill 'Dreamers' program Posted: 06 Nov 2018 06:49 AM PST The Trump administration is seeking the conservative-leaning Supreme Court's endorsement to kill the "Dreamers" program, which protects about 1.8 million undocumented immigrants who arrived in the United States as children. Late Monday the Justice Department announced it was bypassing regional appellate benches and going straight to the high court to gain support for its effort to end the Obama-era Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program. Solicitor General Noel Francisco said injunctions by three lower courts have prevented the administration from ending the program, which the Trump administration says has only encouraged people to try to enter the United States illegally. |

U.S. court rules Qualcomm must licence technology to rivals Posted: 06 Nov 2018 01:04 PM PST The preliminary ruling came in an antitrust lawsuit against Qualcomm brought by the U.S. Federal Trade Commission in early 2017. The preliminary ruling by Judge Lucy Koh in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California said that Qualcomm must license some patents involved in making so-called modem chips, which help smart phones connect to wireless data networks, to rival chip firms. Qualcomm and the FTC had jointly asked Koh last month to delay ruling on the issue for up to 30 days while they pursued settlement talks. |

Students told the local KTLA news station that the teen refused to leave the classroom as instructed and began shouting profanity and the N-word at Riley, who is black. |

At a debate at the Geneva forum - which reports on alleged violations in each U.N. member state every five years and reviewed China's record on Tuesday - Beijing said it protected the freedoms of its 55 ethnic minorities.
