In her first public comments since reports surfaced that she had requested the "unmasking" of the names of Trump associates in surveillance reports, Rice told MSNBC's Andrea Mitchell she hadn't leaked any of that information to the press. Bloomberg reported Monday evening that Rice sought the names of Trump transition officials whose communications were swept up incidentally during routine monitoring of foreign officials. As national security adviser, she was entitled to see the information.

The doctor, Dr. Mohammed Mansour, sent Yahoo News a video from his clinic showing rows of young children lined up under blankets, their faces and eyes frozen, apparently unable to speak or move. Drowning horse saved by father and son, after collapsing in their doorway Posted: 04 Apr 2017 09:43 PM PDT A horse narrowly escaped drowning in floods, thanks to the efforts of a family from the Australian town of Murwillumbah. Now a man, his wife and their son are being praised all over social media, having spent over five hours keeping the horse, who collapsed in their doorway, alive. SEE ALSO: Add this cheeky fella to your 'suburb-wandering seals of Australia' file Last Thursday night, Leigh Shepherd's wife noticed a noise coming from their neighbour's horse, Tilly, who was struggling in the deep water as a result from the floods. Shepherd decided to help retrieve the horse, after his wife said she was going to get it, according to ABC News. "I couldn't stand all my friends saying 'you let your wife swim out into flood waters, what were you doing?' So obviously I had to go out and get the bloody thing," he told the news outlet. Aided by their son Rob, the pair used a cord to help lead the horse to their house. It made it up the stairs, but collapsed in the middle of the doorway. The pair used a bodyboard to help keep Tilly's head above water, sitting by its side for the five hours it took for floods to subside. "She was just buggered, she couldn't move, she just lay there and was dependent on us," Rob told the news outlet. "We thought if she wasn't going to drown maybe hyperthermia or something like that would have got her." Despite fears it would not make it through, Tilly escaped relatively unscathed. It had a deep laceration on one of its front legs, as well as being very tired and sore from the ordeal. Tilly is now recovering back at home with its friend, a pig named Snooky. Nawww. Watch dolphins learning how to eat octopus without killing themselves Posted: 05 Apr 2017 04:22 PM PDT
As far as personality goes, bottlenose dolphins are one of the more charming species to inhabit our oceans. They're also extremely intelligent, brutal hunters that have no problem bloodying up their prey while capturing a tasty meal. In Australia, octopus is a dolphin delicacy, but it's also a very, very dangerous food source due to the cephalopod's ability fight even after it's been bitten and pulled limb-from-limb. Now, scientists have amassed enough video evidence of dolphins dealing with their crafty prey that they believe a very specific hunting technique is being passed down and shared within the dolphin community. For dolphins, the problem with munching on the many-armed critters is that actually killing an octopus doesn't mean it can't still kill you. The nervous system of an octopus allows its tentacles to continue to fight with its powerful suction cups that can block a dolphin's breathing. Indeed, scientists have found dead dolphins with bits of octopus still clogged in their airways, and that's a big price to pay for a meal. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-QIZPG-FxI4 The team of scientists from the Marine Mammal Science group at Murdoch University have identified the specific techniques dolphins are now using to prevent their food from getting the better of them. These actions include violently whipping the octopus against the surface of the water in order to tear and disable it, as well as literally throwing the injured prey into the air so that it hits the water and further incapacitates it. The researchers have also observed younger dolphins picking up the octopus-slaying technique from older members of their groups, and carrying on the knowledge for the future.

Liberals trolled Trump with 'President Bannon' and it totally worked Posted: 05 Apr 2017 08:47 PM PDT President Donald Trump is the big boss man. Steve Bannon is not. But that didn't stop liberals from trolling the White House by calling Trump's chief strategist "President Bannon." Apparently, Trump didn't like that — at least according to a New York Times story on Bannon's waning influence and how he was booted from the National Security Council. SEE ALSO: The White House mailbox is full of postcards to #PresidentBannon Here's the key passage (emphasis ours): "Moreover, Mr. Bannon's Svengali-style reputation has chafed on a president who sees himself as the West Wing's only leading man. Several associates said the president had quietly expressed annoyance over the credit Mr. Bannon had received for setting the agenda — and Mr. Trump was not pleased by liberals' considering him 'President Bannon.'" Liberals, fresh from not drinking a Pepsi, rejoiced at the fruits of their labor. I was wronnnnnnnng. https://t.co/7PZfDnKTXW — Craig Mazin (@clmazin) April 5, 2017 "Mr. Trump was not pleased by liberals' considering him "President Bannon."It really shouldn't be that easy to troll the president. https://t.co/H7o5zQ66NA — Peter A. Shulman (@pashulman) April 6, 2017 This shouldn't be yuuuge surprise. Trump already bristled at Saturday Night Live's impression of "Spicey," aka White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer. Emboldened by their victory, liberals planned how to further put their trolling skills to good use. Has anyone asked President Bannon how he feels about President Kushner? — Wil Wheaton (@wilw) April 6, 2017 "Mr. Trump was not pleased by liberals' considering him 'President Bannon.'"This is gonna be fun. — Gabe Ortíz (@TUSK81) April 6, 2017 Of course, Bannon, the former head of alt-right website Breitbart News, remains in a position of tremendous power. So that's still terrifying. But at least online trolling finally influenced an American president, just as our Founding Fathers envisioned. Sprint is axing its oldest and best deal Posted: 05 Apr 2017 02:13 PM PDT
For the last three years, Sprint has had one killer deal to try and persuade people to switch. If you walked in off the street with a bill from a competitor, Sprint would offer the same data and minutes for half the price. But according to a report in the Wall Street Journal, the rise of unlimited data plans is forcing Sprint to end the run of its Switch and Save 50 Percent deal. It's the end of a historically long-running promotion, and bad news all around for Sprint. The report quotes industry analyst Jeffrey Moore. He says that Sprint's offering became "untenable" in the new unlimited-data-heavy market: Sprint's previous strategy was to use the 50-percent-offer to get customers in the door, and then upsell them to a plan that cost the same as something from AT&T or Verizon, but with more data. That doesn't work when customers are switching from an unlimited plan, as there's nothing left to upsell to. Instead, Sprint is left with customers on years-long unlimited plans for far too cheap, which contributes to Sprint's ongoing lack of profits. The recent launch of unlimited data plans by AT&T and Verizon have hit Sprint hard. With a minimal price difference between Sprint and Verizon's offering, but a very clear difference in network quality, subscribers have been leaving Sprint at a higher-than-expected rate. The only good news for Sprint is that the sudden burst of competition is forecast to hit the profits of all four major carriers, with Q1 estimates being revised downwards by analysts.

Apple, Google Patch Critical Wi-Fi Flaw; Other Phones Screwed Posted: 05 Apr 2017 09:06 AM PDT There's normally a lot you can do to protect yourself from phone hackers, whether it's avoiding suspicious links online or installing antivirus software. A very dedicated and skilled hacker could theoretically compromise any vulnerable phone logged into the same Wi-Fi network as the hacker. Apple devices are safe as long as they update to iOS 10.3.1, and Google Nexus and Pixel phones if they install this month's Android security patch (both released Monday), but most Android users will either have to wait a while, or develop other methods to protect themselves.
